Your New Site Starts Here...

With Joomla! at its foundation and your needs and desires as scaffolding, your new site by Lieberman Web Design will be unique, functional, and an essential aspect of your business.

Beginning a new website can be a daunting process to think about, but all it takes to get started is a concept. If you've thought about a website before and have ideas about how you want your site to look or function--color schemes, slideshows, logos, layouts, etc.--we will collaborate to incorporate these ideas and more, creating a design that truly displays your intended impression. If this is the first time you're considering a site for yourself, the following questions may aid in developing a site design that is uniquely yours:

What is the purpose of the site?

To provide static information such as business hours, directions, or a menu of services? to inform your public of events and news? to display the latest updates or blog posts you've written? to build credibility and authority by imparting information? There are numerous reasons to have a website, and many websites will accomplish a variety of objectives--having a sense of the main intentions of the website can shape the end result, and it is worth considering what specific goals you have in mind.

Do you have any design elements in mind?

It is not neccesary to have thought about how you want your new site to look; I'll have plenty of ideas we can talk about. If you do have opinions about appearence, I'll be able to meet your vision more accurately by incorporating them. Some aspects of what your site will look like include:

  • Colors: if your business or existing marketing tools use a particular color scheme, it can be beneficial to support this branding by using those colors for your site.
  • Images: if you have a logo, images you use in other advertising venues, or particular images you want included, they can be included in the design as well as the content.
  • Layout: if you've thought about how you might want the site to look (e.g. a horizontal or vertical menu, a large or small banner, closed or open columns), we can discuss how form and function will best benefit your purposes.
  • Dynamic Elements: if you want a slideshow, embedded flash videos, special dropdown menus, or other non-static content, they can be included tastefully in the site.

What is the scale of the site?

Some sites only need a small handful of pages to accomplish their goals--it's entirely possible that all you need from your site is to be present online, and you just want a home page, an about page, and a way for clients to contact you. Some sites will use many pages--maybe your site's goal is to provide distinct information to disparate groups of people, with each type of information for each type of person requiring a new page. Having a sense of the scale of your final site can be very useful.
